Featured Artist, Joe Viers

“I’ve been playing in clay most of my time on the planet, starting in a junior high school ceramics class. When young I wanted to teach ceramics, but found making a living easier in other fields. In my working years I found places to continue working in clay by attending college night classes, or working at collective studios. I retired in 2006 and have played in clay ever since. In 2007 I found Zia Pottery to be great place to work and also to interact with other clay artists. I enjoy the creative spirit generated by all the members.”

Kathy has been playing in the mud for over 20 years. She finds her inspiration for her styles from nature as she travels about on both land and water.

Her skills she has developed through workshops with nationally recognized artists as well as her fellow cooperative members.
